What is a Buyers Agent?

When looking to buy a home, why would you choose not to use a REALTOR® to help guide you through one of life’s largest financial transactions? Lonny Johnson with Emblem Properties explains how we can provide professional opinions and advice to our clients.

When buying a home, what you do not know can cost you. There are many things to consider and the contract process can be a bit confusing for the untrained. I have discovered that sometimes there is a bit of misconception about what service REALTORS® provide. When buying a home, it is vital that you have proper representation.

Real Estate commissions are generally paid by the selling side. Customarily the commission is split with part of it going to the buying brokerage. What this means to you as a buyer is that typically your buying agents’ brokerage is paid by the seller. (So, in short, usually, it cost you nothing to have a licensed Realtor represent your best interest in the process.) Feel free to give me a call if you are thinking of buying a home. Huntsville Community Clean Up and Recycle Information

The City of Huntsville will be hosting an Electronics Recycling Day this weekend on September 12th from 9am-12pm. Event will be held at the Recycling Drop-Off Center at 590 IH-45 N. For more information see the flier below or call 936-294-5712.

The City of Huntsville Solid Waste Division will also be hosting a community-wide cleanup. Large roll-off dumpsters will be available from 7am Monday, September 14th to 4pm Saturday, September 19th. Why should I care about the 2020 Census?

The United States Census has been active since the first count in 1790. The Census counts the population in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.

This year will be the twenty-fourth United States Census. The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States. This will mark the first time that you will be able to respond to the census online, due to Covid. It has also been pushed back from April 1st, its normal deadline date, to September 30th.

Why is it important? The Census’ data determines where billions of dollars in federal funding go to. This could include businesses such as schools, hospitals, fire departments, roads, and many others that distribute products and support for you and your community. Getting an accurate count will help in the determination of how much money is distributed into each community. The results of the Census also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives.
